In Tai Chi listening (following) is one of the skills that we train to understand our selves and our opponent. Quite often students concentrate only on listening when diverting force ommiting listening when dilivering force. When pushing without the thought of listening it can lead to your force being blind allowing you to be lead by your opponent.
