Sean Sullivan - Conservative Parliamentary candidate for Tottenham in the 2010 General Election

Sean Sullivan

Sean Sullivan

Biographical details
Sean was born in London in 1981. His grandparents were immigrants to Britain from Ireland. His father served in the London Fire Brigade and his mother works as a bank clerk. Sean attended a state primary school and won a scholarship to attend a local independent school; he was the first member of his family to attend university and studied law at OxfordUniversity.
Sean’s experience
Sean is a barrister specialising in criminal legal aid work. He prosecutes and defends in cases of serious crime across London and beyond. As such he gets to experience first hand the consequences of our broken society and how Labour have failed to tackle crime effectively.
Elected as a local councillor in 2007 Sean has spent three years working with people to solve problems. He is leader of his Conservative group of councillors and has led campaigns to honour the area’s local army regiment, maintain free parking for disabled people and oppose increasing councillors’ allowances.
Working for change in Tottenham
Sean is a tireless campaigner for Tottenham. He has championed residents in Homes for Haringey properties who have been let down by Labour. Sean believes decent social housing is the mark of a civilised society and campaigns against the failure to deal with damp, pest infestation and overcrowding.
Sean is a defender of Tottenham’s heritage and supports the Wards Corner Coalition in Seven Sisters and the campaign to stop Down Lane Park in Tottenham from being built on.
Sean joined protesters marching to save our local A&E units from threatened closure under Labour’s London NHS review and is pleased that the Conservatives have pledged to end this review and its sham consultation.

Local residents selected Sean to contest Tottenham at the beginning of 2009. He was however working hard in the area before then, spearheading the by-election campaign in Seven Sisters which led to the shock result of a rock solid Labour majority being reduced to only 64 votes. He has been out and about meeting the people of Tottenham for the last 18 months and looks forward to meeting many more over the course of the General Election campaign.
