Why bother vote at all?

At the last local elections in Haringey only around 3 out of every 10 people eligible to vote actually bothered to do so! The 35% who voted decided who would be our local councillors. Local councillors (also known as Ward Councillors) make decisions effecting how all of us live in the borough. They can offer you help and advice about things which are the responsibility of Haringey Council. If you didn't vote in the local elections last time, the people who did vote chose your local councillors for you, and had YOUR say!

In the last general election voter turnout was also low in Haringey. Overall only just over half of people eligible to vote actually did so on election day. Votes cast in general elections decide who will be the MP's for the two constituencies within Haringey - Tottenham, and Hornsey & Wood Green. MP's represent the interests of all the people in their constituency in parliament. They can offer you help and advice about things which are the responsibility of the government. If you were one of the people who didn't vote in the last general election, those who did vote decided who your MP should be for you! If you don't vote you don't have much right to complain if you don't like what's happening! Have your say inharingey
Why let these three have your say? That's what happens when you don't vote.
